Denise Stephanie

 
 
Denise Stephanie is a Brooklyn born multidisciplinary artist specializing in imagemaking. her inspiration comes from the intimacies of her West Indian heritage in St Vincent and the grenadines. She has been a hustler from a young age, from selling her crafts at festivals in middle school, to working at Red hook labs photography studio at the age of 15. by 16, she shot her first feature for more or less magazine and shot her first lookbook for barneys new york. At 17, she shot the cover of marie claire magazine featuring emily blunt. Her work has since graced the Vogue.com home page, Refinery29, and Converse soho. Beyond her artistry, she has worked for four years with the Diversity Awareness Initiative for Students as a Core Leader, organizing, planning, and running monthly meetings for politically engaged high schoolers across New York city. Her leadership and professionalism on school, extracurriculars, and the workplace has been recognized widely: Matthew Mazuccca, ex-Creative Director of Barneys New york,  characterized her as "15 going on 35" at the time of her interview and collaboration with barneys. Denise Stephanie is currently a student at New York University studying photography and imaging at Tisch school of the arts, with a minor in business entrepreneurship.
